I have a big orange cat who has six toes on each paw. She is amazing, and sometimes she's naughty, but I don't care. She is basically the Marilyn Monroe of cats, and I let her have a spot in all of my books.

I live in an off-grid cabin that my husband and I built in the big woods of Wisconsin with our kids, a Corgi and that big orange cat. We heat our house with a wood burning stove and carry water in buckets from the well. Here is a comic to show you what I mean:
what I do
I illustrate children's books, comics, album covers, coffee labels, and more! In May 2024, I graduated with my MFA in Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Here's a little comic about that:
My research focused on graphic nonfiction and environmental education, and for my creative thesis I wrote and illustrated a 135 page graphic book about plastics. No, wait, its not a bummer! Its a funny little book full of entertaining animals that teach how to avoid single use plastics, recycle properly, and live more sustainably. Here is the cover:
I also enjoy making hand bound artist books and comics. There is something restfully liberating about DIY bookmaking. Most of my titles have been produced in my own studio and they are satisfying little collectibles.
artist statement
The most important influence on my artwork, and in my life, is my love for nature. I absolutely adore this earth and all its wonders. My mental image data bank is filled with flowers and trees, plants, animals, insects and mushrooms. I have been a gardener for all of my life, and worked in landscaping for many years. These days I only garden for myself, and I kind of go overboard every year. I just love flowers!
Art is a gift, and I feel so fortunate to be able to use it to create books, and art objects that can inspire a love of nature, imagination and play.
